Trick or Treat

We took the kids to Boo at the Zoo for FHE on Monday. It was fun as always.

For Halloween, Ana was a princess fairy (sporting Hello Kitty socks with her heels), and Benjamin was a bumble bee. We were going to hit our neighborhood quickly and then go to my parents' neighborhood, which is supposedly pretty good. But it took us an 1 1/2 just to get around our block! By the time we finished it was bedtime! So we just did ours. But it was so much fun, because we have so many new neighbors, and the houses are all close together. And all of our friends were out trick or treating at the same time as us, so we walked around with friends and talked the whole time. And we couldn't have asked for better weather! Warm, no wind, perfect for trick-or-treating!!

Ana started out with her princess shoes on, but a few feet down the sidewalk and they were hurting her already so we swapped them out for the comfy pink tennies.

On the home stretch. Ana and her friend Kyreni were holding hands by the end. Kinda cute.

We let the kids each eat a few pieces of  candy when they got home. Ana emptied her whole bucket, piece by piece, telling us what each piece of candy was called.

It was such a fun and relaxing Halloween! We had chili for dinner (which is becoming kind of a tradition), got the kids ready, took pictures, headed out early to get candy, got the kids down to bed at a decent time, and then Thad and I made donuts and watched "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." Good movie. Great evening. Can't wait for next year!
