Siesta Key

We got back from Florida last week. It was sooo nice!! A much needed break from reality. Perfect weather, white, powdered sugar sand, it was just what we needed.

So this year, instead of getting together at Christmas as we have always done as long as I can remember, my family decided to spend a week in Florida during the fall. That way we could enjoy the outdoors during our vacation and not be cooped up in a house passing around the flu.

My whole family came (except Elder Monk, of course), and we spent the week laying out and taking walks on the beach, having BBQs on the covered patio next to the beach, visiting the Ringling Brothers Circus Museum and John Ringling's mansion, playing "putt-putt golf," and laying around at the pool.

We also borrowed Thad's family's idea and had the first annual Monk Family Tacky Talent Show. But we'll get to that ...
